First of all, finding this specific van, in black, is a challenge in and of itself (without having to place an order with RAM, through the dealership). We got lucky, and found just one! Next up, was the search to find the right builder for the job - to turn our blank cargo van, into a custom, mobile performance vehicle. From the start, this was a special build, with lots of details. We needed someone that understood this could not be a generic project, and who was willing to take the journey to transform our purchase into an epic stage on wheels! We found this incredible team of creative and professional, automotive craftsmen at FAME Hot Rods. THANKS GUYS!
The project began with several ideas and drawings. We measured and blocked out all aspects of the build. Next up, it was time to tape, approve and make the first cuts into the side of the van! Soon enough, the metal was removed, and we had a giant, 7ft opening in a brand new van. From there, the vehicle was reinforced, prepped and painted. All the interior elements were built: Flip-up DJ Table, VIP Bench, Custom Ramp, Handles, Latches and Locks. We ran wiring for sound, lights and video, and mounted horizontal poles to support the different fixtures. The window hinges and supports went into place, and we soon had a working hatch to open - for mobile DJ entertainment. Best of all - it looks factory! Lastly, we performed a full system test to verify the build - and it was finally ready to clean up and get the vinyl graphics on. Now it's time to party!
